The Sea Shack is Hilton Head Islands’ best hidden seafood secret. The locals favorite spot for the freshest seafood and down-home southern, low-country style cooking in town.
>During peak summer months, arriving upon dinner time, you can probably expect a line waiting at least a half hour before opening time at 5:00 PM. Other times of the year, there may be a small line, but wait time is rather quick (15-30mins tops). You stand in line to place your order. Menus are set out front so you can get an idea, but DO NOT FORGET to check the catch of the day Blackboard Specials, which change daily and are a tasty seafood delight.

We are a “made to order” kind of seafood restaurant. You will see after placing your order and while you are filling your own drinks, the chef of the day putting your seafood selections on as you ordered them (FRIED ? GRILLED? OR BLACKENEND?). You take a seat at an empty table, and within a few minutes, your name will be called out and your fresh, hot, and tasty meal is delivered to your table.

We are kid-friendly and have OUR GUPPIES Menu for their meal options. High chairs and booster chairs are available. We have indoor seating and 3 large picnic tables outside. The Sea Shack does take out orders over the phone, however during peak business hours when the line is long, we ask you come wait in line. Usually this only occurs during the summer at dinner time. We also offer Gift Certificates, t-shirts, tank tops, and hats for purchase.

The History of the Sea Shack:

This seafood institution originated in May 1998, previously the building was occupied by Jody’s’ Burger Restaurant. For the past twelve years, things are consistently improving to keep up with the increase of business over the past few years. The Sea Shack is owned by local residents. The success on the Sea Shack is mostly in part due to the fact that when you leave, your mouth is HAPPY! But also our claim to fame is when Rachael Ray came to Hilton Head Island and put the Sea Shack on her $40 per Day television show.

Prices have risen in the past few years, due to rising seafood costs. However to this day, you can still find fulfilling, fresh seafood for the whole family, at a reasonable price. The staff is energetic and charismatic and are focused on making your experience the best it can be.
